April 12, 2026, 6:30 pm. Ice out, just a small amount of ice remained on the east side of Gilbert Two.Karen Hietpas reported she and her husband Terry were on paddleboards that afternoon. Don't fall in, the water is cold!!!!

April 7, 2026: Ice is receding on Gilbert Two, as seen from the public landing. Ice is out on Gilbert One and on the channel to Gilbert Three. Trumpeter Swans have returned.
February 16, 2026: Eagles were spotted in a nest on a tall tree at the home of Mark and Paula Persons, otherwise known as Gilbert Lodge.
Sunday, February 15, 2026: More fishermen spotted on Gilbert One. Fishing is good near sunset.

January 4, 2026: Paula Persons was on Gilbert One pointing out the ski trail next to the walking trail. Best to avoid stepping on the ski trail.
Young fishermen were at the south end of Gilbert One....and they were catching fish just before sunset.
